POSITION SUMMARY:
The Commercial Irrigation Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and optimizing commercial irrigation systems across client properties. This role directly impacts water efficiency, client satisfaction, and profitability through accurate diagnostics, quality repairs, and clear documentation of billable work.

This is a hands-on, field-based role requiring strong technical skill, reliability, and attention to detail.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Diagnose, repair, and install commercial irrigation systems (valves, controllers, drip, spray, mainlines).
  • Perform wet checks and seasonal irrigation adjustments.
  • Adjust watering schedules based on weather and seasonal needs.
  • Monitor and adjust remote/smart irrigation systems.
  • Complete irrigation repairs efficiently and correctly the first time.
  • Identify and document repair or upgrade opportunities when observed.
  • Assist with landscape enhancements and additional improvement projects as assigned.
  • Support maintenance crews with irrigation observations and minor corrections when needed.
  • Create clear, billable work orders with detailed notes and photo documentation.
  • Accurately document all work in company systems and mobile apps.
  • Coordinate schedules with Operations.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call emergency schedule (as assigned).

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
  • 3+ years commercial irrigation experience (residential-only experience is not sufficient).
  • Bilingual – English and Spanish (required).
  • Strong knowledge of desert-climate irrigation best practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot systems independently and efficiently.
  • Willingness to support enhancement and improvement projects as needed.
  • Comfortable using mobile apps for work orders and documentation.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Valid Arizona Driver’s License with clean driving record.
  • Must pass background check.
  • References required.

Preferred:
  • Irrigation certifications (IA, Rain Bird, Hunter).
  • Experience with smart irrigation systems.
  • Experience supporting commercial landscape enhancement work.
